VitaFerm® Base
VitaFerm® Base – Yeast Nutrient for Reliable Alcoholic Fermentation
VitaFerm® Base is a yeast nutrient designed to support alcoholic fermentation in wine and must. The product supplies essential nutrients for the yeast and helps to compensate for nutrient deficiencies in the must.
The combination of diammonium hydrogen phosphate, vitamin B1, and inactive yeast ensures optimal yeast nutrition. This promotes stable fermentation, supports the multiplication of active yeast cells, and ensures clean and complete fermentation.
Product Features
- Yeast nutrient to support alcoholic fermentation
- Increases yeast-assimilable nitrogen in the must
- Promotes the multiplication of active yeast cells
- Binds fermentation-inhibiting substances
- Supports a clean and complete fermentation
- Can reduce off-flavors (e.g., hydrogen sulfide)
Composition
- Diammonium hydrogen phosphate (60 %)
- Thiamine hydrochloride / Vitamin B1 (0.065 %)
- Inactive yeast
Dosage
- Recommended dosage: up to 100 g / 100 L must
- Staggered addition recommended (e.g., 3 × 30 g / 100 L)
- First addition after yeast inoculation, subsequent additions up to about ⅔ of fermentation
Technical Effect
- Increase in yeast-assimilable nitrogen (YAN)
- At 20 g / 100 L, the YAN value is increased by approximately 28 mg/L
- Supports stable and reliable fermentation
Application
VitaFerm® Base is suspended in must or water before addition and then added to the fermentation vessel.
